Day 32 – Cowra to Katoomba (207 km)

I had originally planned on zig-zagging to my next destination (Katoomba) in order to avoid riding the same roads twice. However, with the bubonic plague masquerading as a sever case of man-flu, with limited sleep due to friggin’ trucks driving past all night – I wasn’t about to take my time getting there. So, I headed to Bathurst again and replayed about 62 km between Bathurst and Lithgow. Of course, it all looked quite different from the other direction 😊.

On the way, I stopped at the Carcoar windfarm and dam:

Since it was a short run, I was there just after noon. Just before entering Katoomba I stopped at Evans Lookout for an amazing view:

I paid $38 to pitch a tent at the only caravan park within the Katoomba townsite (who do they think they are? Airlie Beach?), pitched the tent, unhitched the trailer and when for a drive with my first destination being the Three Sisters. Firstly, Katoomba is so not a motorcycle friendly town. I couldn’t find 1 m/c parking bay anywhere, and the paid parking close to the attractions uses tickets – useless for motorcycles. Anyway, a long walk later I found them. Brill.

Unfortunately, the weather started to close in and drizzle. The forecast for tomorrow morning is a bit better so I’ll try play tourist a bit more then.
