Well, it’s clear that 7 days in New York just ain’t enough. 2-3 weeks world probably be the right figure.
We tried to start early. The girls get a little pissed when I go from under the sheets to walking out the door in less than 10 mins. What point is makeup, eyebrows, & hair-dos when you’re rugged up like the Michelin Man anyway?
Washington Square Park (another Glee location):
A fantastic but freezing cold walk over the Brooklyn Bridge:
On the Brooklyn side of the bridge is Jane’s Carousel (visible below the bridge in the photo above), which was first build in 1922 and later restored by Jane Walentas in 1984 and subsequently donated it to the city. It housed in a gorgeous glass cube.
Shopping followed, then a quick visit to Madison Square Gardens, then we returned to the hotel for a quick rest.
Grand Central Station (or Terminal as it’s actually called) was next. It’s an amazing old building, dating back to the late 1800s – they really don’t make them like this anymore:
Then, a trip to the top of Rockefella Plaza (Top of the Rock) to see the New York city scape at night. Clearly this is a popular thing to do as the queue was a lot longer than we expected. As usual, it was friggin’ cold – especially adding in the wind-chill factor from the 67th floor observation deck.
The cold and a now tight schedule for Cabaret cut the visit to the top a little short, but we’d seen all we needed to see. I still can’t comprehend how big this place is.
